Homogenized Memoirs

I’ve just returned from seeing Memoirs of a Geisha. When the book came out a good friend got it and then passed it on to me when she was done. I loved the story but never finished it. I do that sometimes. Not finish things because I don’t want them to finish. I don’t want them to end.

There are some stories that hollywood should not touch. The hollywood machine eats souls. The souls of movie’s and the souls of stories. This is one of those stories.

The husk which was spat out was dry, flat and tied in a silk bow of a muted tone did not do justice to the Geisha.

My apologies to those fantastic creatures…

I am getting into the holiday spirit people!

You know what that means… tons of sarcasm.

Ho, Ho, whatever….

I spent my entire Friday trying to configure Textpattern. Then Friday day turned into Friday night and into Saturday morning. OH - and guess what? The software is a piece of crap. It is the worst blogging/cms software that I have ever had the misfortune to lay my hands on.

There is minimal documentation on how to make it work. It is the farthest from user friendly that I have yet to have seen of software of such a manner and to put it bluntly it simply does not make sense. The people on the forums are not all that helpful and it seems that only a privilege few on the inside have any clue what to do with it. They have built a “community” around a software that is in itself a piece of poo.

So… my advice - stay away form TextPattern (I won’t even bother to link it here) because it is NOT worth the time and effort.

Back to the grind.

Puppet? Falling? Toy?

Those are all words which can easily be used to describe a certain president.

Hours of fun for the whole family!

Gosh, how I love the internet and how I love PlanetDan

I refuse to leave the house today. It is November and it is something like 55 degrees outside. There is something wrong with that. We don’t usually start feeling the chill here in NYC until thanksgiving - really it is like clockwork - but by this time of year it is always colder then this.

Freak weather scares me.

And I like it.

Don’t ask me how I found this site just know that I love “I’m what Willis was talkin’ ’bout” and I think that the boybeater in olive would look great on me. Oh, and I wear a small.

Oh come on! Is it really any surprise that Bloomberg won over Ferrer for Mayor of NYC?

I voted for Bloomberg. There - I said it. I… a very, very left wing sort of girl went Republican and I will tell you why.

First off did you see the debate? Ferrer was nothing but a mouthy politician saying all the right things and doing that tired old politician dance. He lacked any substance and he did not spearhead any issues. He is a decent mouthpiece but did not display any leadership skills at all. He talked about the problems but did not have any decent solutions.

Second… Ferrer and company kept going on and on about how Bloomberg was spending so much money on his campaign. Um… hello… it was money out of his own pockets. Money he worked hard for. If he has the money then spend it. Ferrer or anyone in that positions for that matter, would have done the same. Bloomberg does not hide the fact that he is a millionaire, nor is it a secret that he has busted his hump to get his company where it is. He is a true entrepreneur and at least he is not doing realty TV shows.

Lastly, I have seen it all here in NYC. From the gutter to penthouses. This town is volatile mixture of heaven and hell and that is the beauty of this city. We need a leader who can see all of the different angles and steer strong and true. Bloomberg has been in the trenches for 4 years and I think that overall NYC is going strong. Let’s not fix what isn’t broken.

I am not kicking up my heels at this but I am not losing sleep either.

4 more years…

This is hilarious.
